When I first heard that Matty Matheson, the larger-than-life Canadian chef and star of The Bear, was teaming up with Gozney to drop a Signature pizza oven, I knew it was going to be something special. The guy’s got a knack for turning everything he touches into a loud, chaotic, and downright lovable extension of his personality. The Matty Matheson Signature Tread, a limited-edition version of Gozney’s ultra-portable pizza oven, is no different.
First spotted by Fast Company, the modular oven and accessory system boasts a hyper-portable and lightweight design. Weighing just 29.7 lbs, nearly half the weight of Ooni Koda 2, the pizza oven is built to go anywhere and everywhere. Measuring just 12.6 inches high, 16.5 inches wide, and 19.1 inches deep, this propane-powered pizza oven is also compact enough to fit without being a hassle to lug around.
Then comes the aesthetic standpoint, where Signature Tread is unmistakably ‘Matty.’ It’s decked out in a bold, in-your-face ‘Matty orange’ colorway that practically screams his name and style. Even the stainless steel exterior is engraved with whimsical, cartoon-style illustrations of ‘Matty’s World,’ dreamed up by his longtime collaborator, artist Christopher Wilson, the company points out in a press release.
The limited-edition Tread is versatile, rugged, and designed to make outdoor cooking feel effortless. The Signature Tread is based on Gozney’s Tread, which was launched earlier in 2025 and praised by reviewers. Even in the case of limited-edition, the early impressions suggest that the pizza oven is a statement piece that’s as fun to look at as it is to cook with. But this isn’t just a flashy marketing gimmick. The limited-edition pizza oven has more to offer.
Despite its small size, it can crank up to 500 degrees Celsius in just 15 minutes, thanks to Gozney’s lateral gas burner that is no less than the rolling flame of a wood-fired oven. The collaboration doesn’t stop here. Gozney’s also dropped a capsule collection of accessories alongside the oven. This includes customized pizza peels with the same cartoonish engravings, a rugged nylon travel bag reinforced for durability, and a quad-legged Venture Stand with independently adjustable legs for stability on uneven ground.

“Tread pairs seamlessly with the Venture Stand to let you create an outdoor kitchen anywhere, while the attachable cutting board pairs with a revolutionary lateral flame and space for a 12” pizza or cast-iron pan,” the company points out.
All said and done, the Matty Matheson Signature Tread launches globally on June 18, through Gozney’s website and select retailers. Given Matty’s fanbase and Gozney’s track record of selling out limited-edition collabs, you’ll want to move fast. The company has refrained from leaking any details about the total number of limited-edition Matty Matheson Signature Tread pieces, but given the long delay of the release, we expect Gozney to spill some details in the coming days.
