American brand Modernica has collaborated with renowned graffiti designer STASH to incorporate his creative vision and craftmanship into the furniture. This idea of collaboration was inspired by STASH’s 2022 mural showcased at the Los Angeles Modernica Factory.

This furniture collection includes a shoe bench, a viewing mirror and a fiberglass chair. The centerpiece of the collaboration is the reinterpretation of Modernica’s case study furniture storage unit which is transformed into a storage shoe bench, designed to complement the release of Stash’s latest sneaker collaboration.

It features a first-ever custom cushion added to the storage unit along with pegs, STASH shoehorn and fiberglass panels. Not only this, but it also includes a water-resistant mat placed under the perforated shoe shelf, making it suitable for any type of environment.

The shoe bench – the centerpiece of this furniture series – uses custom printed fabric to match STASH’s signature blue and is finished with Modernica x STASH branding iron stamp. This bench is built with ultra-high quality artisan-level plywood that was sourced from a mill in Washington state.

This furniture line-up also features a fiberglass chair which is embedded with the same spray nozzle artwork from the mural in its design. The fiberglass shell chair is one of the most recognizable designs of mid-century design. It was originally designed in 1948, as a debut in The Museum of Modern Art’s International Design competition.

In this series, an exceptional piece is the shoe mirror which is constructed with eleven layers of laminated hardwoods and bevels at the exposed wood edge. It is inspired by the playful excitement of being a kid trying on a fresh pair of shoes. This fiberglass mirror is embedded with the Modernica x STASH logo. Each piece in the Modernica x STASH collection was limited to only 50 units.
