All around the world, shipping containers are being used in architecture sector, but you might not have come across a shipping container pool. Yes, it’s absolutely true! A Canadian company Honomobo upcycles shipping containers into chic swimming pools that can be installed or relocated easily.
Dubbed as Modpool, it comes in ready-to-use configuration, and includes a glass window on the side. Interestingly, this shipping container pool allows controlling water temperature, jets and onboard color-changing LED lights from the companion mobile app.
Available in three sizes, these shipping container pools are designed to fit different needs of users. There is option to separate hot tub and pool area just by inserting a divider. This way, one side becomes hot tub and the other one is a pool. The Modpool uses 400,000 BTU/hour MasterTemp heater that raises water temperature 30-Degree-Celsius per hour at -10 Degree Celsius. There is also an ultraviolet water sanitation system to keep it safe for everyone.

Modpools can be installed above the ground, partially or completely buried in-ground. Repurposing shipping containers to create elegant and functional swimming pools is a worthy idea for sure. If you are thinking to install a swimming pool at home, this might be a good choice.
