Sleep deprivation is a growing concern, and that is where a product like Nocturne comes into play. It is basically a sleep-aid device that combines a beautiful design with customizable noise-masking features. It sits next to your nightstand or mounts on a wall, and allows you to adjust background sounds to block distractions like ringing ears or noisy neighbors.
Slightly smaller than a standard iPad, each unit comes with a detachable EQ remote with sliders to customize the white noise depending on the pitch of the noise. If you have high-pitched tinnitus, increasing the treble can help, while adjusting the mid-range may reduce the impact of a snoring partner. Nocturne lets you fine-tune every audible frequency from deep bass to high treble, across a wide frequency spectrum of 60 Hz to 10,000 Hz.
All this is done without using any mobile app or subscription, which makes it stand out from other options on the market. Additionally, all the onboard indicator lights automatically shut off after they are untouched for three seconds, so the device will help you keep your room dark for better sleep. For added convenience, the speaker includes a timer function that lets users schedule it to play for a set duration, especially when you lull into sleep.

Nocturne is made out of a Birchwood frame with rounded edges and a soothing color palette to keep things minimal. It has two speakers to deliver high-quality sound, optimized by a seasoned Silicon Valley sound engineer with experience in developing legendary products, including some of Apple’s popular audio devices.
Nocturne offers five carefully recorded sounds, chosen to promote better sleep. These include the soothing rush of a waterfall (natural pink noise), the gentle flow of a stream, calming ocean surf, steady rainfall, and the ambient sounds of an evening forest filled with crickets, reminiscent of a warm summer night on the U.S. East Coast.
The Nocturne sleep-aid device features a built-in kickstand for tabletop use and comes with a wall mount for other setup options. It is currently available on Kickstarter at a discounted price until May 28, with online availability planned for later this year.
