French tiny house builder Baluchon is known for its creative micro-dwellings that in no way feel compact. The latest addition to its fleet of houses is called Nouvelle Danse, which translates to New Dance. The builder is known for mobile wooden tiny homes with a classy exterior and an interior with custom-crafted personalized features and a reverse-loft interior. Custom-built for Nadège, who is passionate about sewing, Nouvelle Danse has spaces carved to integrate her work.
The 20-foot Nouvelle Danse tiny house on wheels is built on a double-axle trailer. There is a glass door with black paneling, and the roof and window frames are all done in black wood. The dark and moody exterior features board and batten with matte black cladding, which is unlike the company’s other offerings.
Upon entering the house, you see an upside-down layout with bright spaces, French walnut wood furniture, and a study across the door for working from home. The working table features a set of drawers for storage. Nadège has a sewing machine installed on the table facing the window for her to enjoy natural views while working.
Next to the table, there’s the kitchen countertop. The countertop has a sink, a mini fridge, and under-counter cabinets. This area has two large windows, which give ample natural light and make the space look wide and open. Facing the countertop, a small nook features another countertop with a stove, an oven, and a couple of drawers and shelves. The cooktop is separated from the adjoining dining table by a side wooden panel where the ultra-slim heater is installed.
Past the kitchen, the bathroom features a big mirror, a walk-in shower, and a toilet. The side of the toilet also has shelves to keep toiletries. A window is also placed there for better ventilation and light.
As aforementioned, the Nouvelle Danse features a reverse loft layout, where one side of the house has an upside-down feature with the bedroom on the ground floor and the living area on the loft level. Left to the sowing table, the small bedroom has a window and is perfect for kids to play and sleep in. Outside the bedroom, built-in steps take you to a lounge without any railings. This elevated lounge has two full-size windows, giving fresh, bohemian vibes with a hammock hanging.

From the elevated living space, two floating steps lead to a walkway that takes you to the loft bedroom. It is fitted with a handrail made of woven rope and a big window. The loft bedroom has a queen-size bed and a big window.
All windows are operable, keeping the interior fresh and light-filled. The Nouvelle Danse tiny house flaunts Baluchon’s signature style by giving it a bold exterior. It is a study in creativity of how a compact space is turned into a dream home drenched in natural light, working with day-to-day activities in harmony.
