While the whole world is immersed in the Christmas spirit, there’s probably no one quite like Rolf’s German Restaurant in New York City. Every year, this restaurant spends $60,000 on Christmas decorations – and by looking at the extravagant festive decor it seems that the restaurant staff does their best to please Santa.

The Christmas decorations include approximately 100,000 lights, 15,000 ornaments, 800 dolls, and thousands of icicles each year. If we get into numbers, this restaurant has 2,500 more ornaments than the total number of traffic signals in all of the New York City.

According to the restaurant manager, Suhul Uddin, this festive tradition started with the previous owner. However, every year the decorations get more elaborate and cost the restaurant between $60,000 and $65,000 annually. It takes six men working overnight for six weeks to complete the Christmas decoration.

They begin decorating the restaurant in September and keep up the festive spirit until April. So, the holiday decor is not just a one-day show. This also means if you can’t find a perfect spot here during Christmas time, you can re-visit another time until spring to get back into the festive mood.

Have a look at the gorgeous decor of the restaurant:
