Ooni has unveiled an upgrade to its popular Volt 12 indoor pizza oven by making it smaller and smarter. The newly launched Ooni Volt 2 electric pizza oven is similar to Volt 12 in many aspects, only it is more compact, more affordable, and smarter than its predecessor. Volt 2 comes with Pizza Intelligence, Ooni’s most advanced oven control system. It is an adaptive heating system that regulates temperature in real time to provide speed, accuracy, and baking consistency at the touch of a button.
The new Volt 2 includes three pizza preset modes. Much like Volt 12, you can bake a Neapolitan pizza with authentic Italian flavours, with a light, airy crust in just 90 seconds. With its Thin & Crispy mode, you can whip up a foldable NYC-style pizza. The Pan Pizza preset allows you to bake thick, fluffy pan-style pizzas like Sicilian or Detroit, just like grandma used to make.
Volt 2 can cook your pizzas anywhere up to 13 inches in diameter. The sleek countertop appliance also has a Dough Proofing Mode along with two custom modes to save your favorite oven settings.
Volt 2 has been refined and re-engineered at every touchpoint to enhance the user experience. It uses real-time sensor data to adjust the top and bottom heating elements, eliminating temperature fluctuations and cold spots, cooking every pizza to perfection every time.
“We’ve listened to feedback and have been busy conducting rigorous testing to create the most technologically advanced indoor pizza oven available today. Our team of expert engineers has created an oven that’s super easy to use but still delivers amazing, consistent results, whether you’re a pizza pro or just love experimenting in the kitchen,” Kristian Tapaninaho, founder and co-CEO at Ooni, shared with Tom’s Guide.
Similar to Volt 12, Volt 2 can go from 70 degrees Fahrenheit (21 degrees Celsius) to 842 degrees Fahrenheit (450 degrees Celsius) in minutes and offers pizzas baked to perfection. Evidently, it is the same high temperatures that professional pizzerias use, but conventional ovens cannot reach. You can easily bake cookies, meats, veggies, and prepare meals for the week with Volt 2.

The smooth, rounded design of Volt 2 eliminates the hard angles of Volt 12 and adds a sleek touch control panel. The wide, edge-to-edge tempered glass viewing window lets you keep watch on your pie as it bakes. The electric pizza oven will be available in charcoal grey and polar white colors.
Volt 2 has a 30 percent reduction in its counter space footprint compared to the Volt 12, which took up to 21 inches on the countertop, making it less desirable. Not to mention the price variation between the two models. The Volt 12 is retailing at $900, whereas the Ooni Volt 2 pizza oven will cost $699 when it becomes available starting October 1, 2025.
