Sauna culture has become a hot topic in the wellness space, with innovative designs ranging from shipping containers and classic wooden barrels to portable ones. Mobile or trailer saunas are also gaining traction. After the SaltSaun NW towable sauna trailer, we introduce the Aquila sauna on wheels by UK-based company Out of the Valley. It is a fully functional traditional sauna cabin built on a towable trailer that allows you to transport it to vacation homes, campgrounds, events, or anywhere you want easily.
Designed and handcrafted at the Out of the Valley workshop in Devon, the Aquila mobile sauna sits on a dual-axle trailer and features a sleek, contemporary cabin-style design. It is clad in thermally modified timber treated with the traditional Japanese ‘shou sugi ban’ technique for a unique appearance. The wood surface is carefully brushed to reveal an elegant texture, and then sealed with natural waxes for enhanced weather resistance.
The sauna’s exterior is further enhanced with a slightly V-shaped Corten steel roof that folds in from the sides for easier travel. Following biophilic design, the cabin has large, double-glazed windows to maximize connection with the surrounding nature. Another cool design highlight is the folding entrance deck that provides space to relax outside the sauna and comes with adjustable legs for fast setup on uneven terrain.
The rustic look is carried to the inside with thermo alder paneling and English ash flooring. The sauna uses breathable, natural sheep’s wool insulation with a slow-grown larch vapor cavity to manage moisture and ventilation. The cabin has thermo alder bench boards with an angled backrest for extra comfort and is finished with Stelon sauna oil, which is a naturally antibacterial wood protector.

This cabin-style mobile sauna features a traditional Narvi wood-burning stove and an outdoor cold shower. It has ample perforated storage for firewood outside. Designed to be fully off-grid, the sauna uses solar panels to power interior and exterior lighting by storing energy in an included battery. Inside, there are adjustable 3000K LED lights placed under benches and above the backrest to set the perfect mood.
