The Owl’s Nest tiny house in Washington, previously owned by Zoe, Danny, and their son Phoenix, is currently for sale. The cabinesque build of the micro-dwelling is enhanced by its cottage-core interior and its unusual collapsible roof mechanism. The roof is a combination of gable and shed styles. The shed-style roofs on each end are collapsible. The walls of these sections are on hinges and can be removed to lay the roof flat to make the tiny house road legal.

The interior is a nesting space with extreme storage efficiency throughout, personal touches by the builders, and regular amenities such as a kitchen, a spa-like bathroom, two standing lofts, and a living area for year-round comfort. The tiny house measures 17 feet tall with the shed roofs extended and 13 feet without them. The exterior has cedar siding and shakes. There is an awning and a tiny porch, extending the indoor-outdoor space. Danny tried to incorporate as many recycled materials as possible for eco-friendly touches.

Inside, every nook and crevices exude rustic vibe and invoke a sense of belonging. The interior is decked with the basic amenities to make the space homely and livable. From the kitchen to living room and two spacious lofts to bathroom, the house provides a comfortable space where every corner is smartly utilized to cater to the dwellers.

There is a snug living area by the entrance. It has a built-in couch and a cubic mini wood stove with firewood storage for added warmth. A shoe cubby, coat rack, and some hooks for hanging jackets enhance the functionality of the space.

The custom-built cedar live-edge countertops and floating shelves amplify the rustic vibes, whereas ample cabinets and drawers maximize the storage in the kitchen. For appliances, there is a cooktop, refrigerator, propane water-heater, and a microwave. A dinette with two stools, chairs, and a fold-down table creates a multifunctional space. The storage space under the stairs with a pull-out clothing rack and bookshelf is a clever idea to improve utility. There is a cleverly hidden large walk-in pantry that adds to the charm and functionality of this kitchen.

Adjacent the living room, the bathroom is a highlighting feature of the house. Exuding luxury and a spa-like feeling, it has a full-size acrylic tub, a composting toilet, a washer-dryer hookup, and plenty of storage.

There are two lofts with standing height thanks to the unique roof design. The main loft is accessible via storage-integrated paddle stairs and houses a king-size bed, a built-in corner floating shelf, and a built-in nightstand for a warming touch.

On the opposite side, the second loft is a perfect sleeping nook. Accessible via a ladder and storage-integrated stairs, it has space for a queen-size bed, work/study space, and room for a reading chair. It is the perfect space for kids or guests.

There is no denying that the Owl’s Nest tiny house is built with love and care for a relaxed, slow-paced life. This house in Washington is currently up for sale on Tiny House Marketplace, where it can be yours for $165,000 if you like the cabinesque aesthetic of this micro-dwelling.
