While most of the kettles on the market aim for better functionality, Russell Hobbs has brought something unique that provides a sensory experience with built-in lights and sounds. The new Calm Kettle not only serves its practical purpose but also acts as an elegant statement piece in the kitchen. While the water boils, you are entertained with colorful lights and soothing sounds.

This 1.7-liter glass kettle has a glass body, with some plastic and stainless steel parts. The top part of the kettle body is stainless steel, with a copper glaze applied for a cool look. The kettle lid is a high-quality plastic with a copper glaze that opens softly with a push and prevents drips or splashing.

The kettle displays six colors including orange, yellow, green, blue, violet and red through its frosted glass body. The colors will continue to loop in the previously mentioned pattern throughout the heating process. Once the kettle has reached the selected temperature, the colors will change to a continuous white to indicate keep warm mode and will turn off at the end of the process. Likewise, you can choose from soothing sounds designed especially for the Calm Kettle.

As for the main functionality, you can choose the water temperature between 40 and 100 degrees centigrade, in 5 degrees centigrade increments from the onboard touchscreen display on the base. The quiet boil technology minimizes the popping noise of bubbles. Furthermore, the keep warm function maintains water at a warm temperature for up to 15 minutes.

If you want to enjoy a moment of me-time with the Russell Hobbs Calm Kettle, you can purchase it from the official website. There are no pricing details on the US website yet; however, the UK site lists it for £100 (about $125).
