Sea to Summit, an Australian outdoor gear company known for its lightweight and durable backpacking tents has come up with the new Ikos TR 3-season tent. The lineup is based on the same design principles as the Aussie brand’s award-winning ultralight Telos Tension Ridge tents.

Promising to offer sufficient space and versatility in set up, this new tent will turn standard and vehicle-supported camping into a fun and eco-friendly experience. The user can configure the tent according to the weather or the activity in either Fly Only Mode, Inner Only Mode, Dry Set-Up, Partial Fly Mode, or Classic Mode.

The Ikos TR camping tents come with a canopy made from an ultralight 20D polyester mesh while the floor and flame-retardant-free rainfly are made using 68D polyester coated with polyether polyurethane (PeU). A sustainably-built DAC MX poleset supports the entire structure. There are four inner pockets and two gear lofts for storage.

Thanks to the patented Tension Ridge design, the Ikos tent has a room-like shape to offer more headroom, better ventilation, and adaptability. The rectangular floor of the tent can accommodate two regular rectangular sleeping mats. The user can control airflow to manage humidity and condensation by opening or closing the Baseline Vents.

In the Rainfly Mode, the campers can take off the outer cover to expose the tent’s mesh walls and witness a full panoramic view of the surroundings. And since the tent comes with color-coded clips and poles to determine which pole goes where, it is very convenient to set up within a few minutes. Even beginners can set up this tent without any hassle.

Ikos is available in two versions – TR2 (two-person) and TR3 (three-person) – however the overall design and features are common. Both tents intend to offer a firm, airy, and sustainable cover to eco-conscious campers in the wilderness.

The TR2 has around 28-square-foot of floor area along with 39 inches of peak height, making it appropriate for two people camping or backpacking. However, the TR3 comes with a larger 41.5-square-foot of floor area and 45 inches of peak height to offer living space for three people.

The packed size of the TR2 tent is 19.7 x 6.9 inches while the weight is 5lbs 3.6 oz. On the other hand, the TR3 model measures 19.7 x 7.9 inches and weighs 6 lbs 15.7 oz. You can pre-order the Ikos TR tents directly from the company’s official website. The TR2 and TR3 tents are priced at $429 and $529 respectively.

Thanks to their spacious design, ease of use, and green features, these tents are likely to be a hit among conservationists and campers seeking some extra room for their new adventures.
