For a houseplant enthusiast indoor gardening is the best ornament to embellish your home. The major challenge arises when plants get rotten due to overwatering or dehydration. Now your issue of precise watering gets resolved with the self-watering tiles designed by Tevaplanter that can either be put on a table or attached to a wall. The self-watering tile uses an advanced hydroponic technique that grows your plants with water-based nutrients rather than the soil.

This tile is built with a porous material that contains pores, allowing water and air to pass through them. The self-watering tile is basically a vessel out of which water gets poured out automatically as it is built with porous material. The tile drains the excessive water in its base and retains the adequate amount of water for the plants. This mimics the natural way in which plants thrive in the rainforest.

You can grow plants by adding seeds to the tile, filling the vessel with water, and letting your plant grow. There are four ways of growing plants in this tile including plant plug, seeds, replanting, and cutting. These tiles are built with 100 percent reusable materials. The self-watering plants absorb an adequate amount of water and drain the excess water quantity in its base.

Tile has a parametric design that allows the air and water to reach the roots of the plants. Each tile requires a base – for a vertical two-stack layout of tiles, one wall base is required while for a horizontal or complex arrangement, each tile requires its own base. With this sturdy base, you can either place it on a wall or a table. Its design offers plants the appropriate amount of hydration, artificial light and natural sunlight. Interestingly, the accompanying app shows a timeline of plants evolving from a seed to a healthy plant.

This self-watering plant has already met the intended crowdfunding target, and is being pledged quickly on Kickstarter at an early bird price of $59.
