Despite facing scrutiny from a certain section of society, the tiny house movement continues to thrive. It has not only mitigated challenges posed by International Residential Codes but has become a global phenomenon over the years. Among the manufacturers providing essential support to sustain this movement, France-based builder Baluchon stands right at the top. The tiny house firm has recently completed construction of a micro-dwelling, dubbed the Sherpa tiny house.

The Sherpa comes poised on a double-axle trailer and measures 19.6 in length. The tiny house boasts red cedar cladding on its exterior that is complimented by aluminum accenting and ample glazing. To ensure optimal insulation, Baluchon has utilized cotton, linen, and hemp for the floors, walls, and ceiling, respectively.

A glass door allows visitors to access the living room of the Sherpa tiny house. “The gable of the living room has large full-height joinery which brings a nice dose of light throughout the house,” says the maker. In addition to being bright and airy, the living room comes with a sofa that can be converted into a bed, sleeping two people comfortably. Other features include a bench for storing shoes and an ash claustra for hooking coats and other clothing essentials. Not to mention, dual-flow VMC that maintains an optimal temperature inside the home.

Nearby is the kitchen which is outfitted with an ash table. Accommodating a minimum of two people, the table can function as a dining area or can be used as a worktop. The piece of furniture folds up completely to the wall, hence offering ample space to the user. The kitchen also comprises of ash worktop, cabinets, a sink, and an array of appliances.

The kitchen connects to the bathroom. Featuring a shower with glass doors, dry toilet, shaving compartment, long wall shelf, and large storage unit for clothes, the bathroom is highly functional.

The Sherpa tiny house also features a loft section that can be reached using a storage-integrated staircase. Boasting a typical low-ceiling design, the loft sleeps a couple and also hosts a small bookcase. The loft space has two ash railings to prevent dwellers from tumbling. Overall, the tiny home is a light-filled and storage-friendly abode best suited for small families.
