The need for off-grid power for personal use is growing fast. That is why we have creative solutions like Shine 2.0. It is a miniaturized wind turbine compact enough to fit in your backpack. The accessory is an upgraded version of the earlier Shine 1.0 – with increased power output, faster USB-C charging, better device compatibility, an accompanying mobile app, and more features.
Shine 2.0 allows you to generate power anytime using wind power. You just need to make sure it is set up in a place where the wind is blowing regularly. The portable wind turbine folds up into a 3 lbs package shaped like a soccer ball. It also comes with a 6ft mount accessory that helps you add height to its design for capturing better wind flow to generate more energy.
The company’s co-founder told Engadget that it can generate the energy required to juice up a smartphone in just 17 minutes, but this time can extend depending on the wind speed. In case of a slight breeze, the wind turbine can take about 11 hours to generate the same amount of energy. The turbine can generate a maximum power output of 50W from its rotor and has a built-in 12,000 mAh lithium-ion battery to store power.

According to the maker, the Shine 2.0 is capable of generating power in winds between 8-28 mph (13-45 kph). It works at a maximum noise level of 50dB, which will not create any unwanted disturbance. Beyond powering phones, tablets, eReaders, and USB flashlights, it is also compatible with power stations using a USB-C input or a custom adapter accessory.
With 75W fast-charging, you can juice up devices fast, while the internal battery can itself be used to power up to four USB devices. Another cool highlight is the free Bluetooth-connected app that gives you real-time access to analytics on wind speed, power generation, battery state, and more metrics.
Being a wind turbine, it promises the best results when the wind flows consistently. This portable power generator can be a great option for off-grid adventures in windy locations. If you wish to buy, it can be pre-ordered for $399 through its Indiegogo campaign, with delivery slated for April 2026.
