Most new wrought iron cookware has a rough surface because its cast in sand molds, but Australia-based Solidteknics has found a game-changing solution. Its AUS-ION Polished range features wrought iron pans with a smooth, polished finish that requires zero seasoning and delivers faster non-stick performance right from the start. This makes cooking smoother and cleaning easier, while providing high-performance qualities of traditional iron cookware.
Each pan is proudly made in Australia from a single solid sheet of 3mm-thick clean iron, with no joins or rivets to ensure exceptional durability. The surface is then precision-polished to create a naturally low-stick finish right from the very first cooking session. This process involves no toxic coatings, so the pans are completely safe to use.
This polished iron cookware combines natural performance of traditional cast iron with the easy-to-use convenience of stainless steel. The pan is less sticky right from the start and easier to clean, making it simpler to cook well even if you are not perfect with heat or timing.
The polished iron cookware comes in four sizes. The smallest 22cm pan is good for one person, sauces, or quick meals. The 26cm pan is great for 2-3 people and works well for steaks, stir-fries, or schnitzels. The 30cm pan can cook six sausages, a whole fish, or pancakes for a family. The biggest is a 30cm wok with two handles, perfect for stir-fries, curries, noodles, or rice. Its dual handles make it easier to lift and move around the kitchen.

Solidteknics has already successfully crowd-funded its Nöni one-person stainless steel frypan and is now raising funds on Kickstarter for its new polished iron cookware range. Prices start at $130 for the 22cm AUS-ION Polished Sauteuse and go up to $195 for the 30cm frypan. The delivery is expected in April 2026.
