Set to debut at IFA 2025, the xLean TR1 is a dual-form floor washing robot that converts to a handheld cleaning equipment in seconds. An electric lock allows a one-second switch between robot and handheld forms. The cleaning robot also pairs hot-water deep mopping with real-time learning and an auto-clean station.
Designed by xLean Robotics, a start-up from CHUK’s Robotics Institute, the flagship model is dubbed the world’s first dual-form transformable floor washing robot. The xLean TR1 is designed for everyday deep cleaning and timely spot cleaning and boasts a Dual-Motor DirectSuction mechanism for residue-free cleaning of massive spills.
With its one-second dual-form switch letting you change from floor-cleaning robot to handheld device instantly, you can handle spills fast and train the robot by cleaning with the handheld option. Thanks to multi-sensor fusion and Reinforcement Learning, the robot form of xLean TR1 navigates seamlessly through tight spaces such as under the furniture. It has a square body and 800 RPM dual-roller mop, ensuring full coverage even on the sharp corners to provide holistic cleaning. Its handheld form has bi-directional electric assistance to offer effortless spot cleaning and learns from behavior.
The xLean TR1 comes equipped with RGB-D camera, green laser sensor, and motor encoders to record cleaning patterns and preferences. This data transfers to robot form, allowing it to clean with human intent, known as Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF). To improve models, this anonymized data is aggregated in the cloud with user consent, delivering Self-Evolving Intelligence via OTA updates.
This robot cleaner relies on high negative pressure to draw in solids and liquids in one step. The dual rollers use 140 degrees Fahrenheit (60 degrees Celsius) hot water to get rid of grease and sticky spills. Its high-rate self-cleaning OMNI station flushes the mop with hot water, separates solids, and air-dries to reduce odor and mold.
With smart navigation and mapping, the xLean TR1 detects over 400 obstacles, maps 1,615 square feet in 3 minutes, and uses SLAM with retractable LiDAR to reach edges down to 0.24 inches. The xLean TR1 reduces manual work and keeps the floors squeaky clean with minimal effort. The only thing you need to do is empty the solid waste bin, and your dual-form cleaning robot is ready to get back to work. The low-gravity design makes the cleaning unit 55 percent lighter.
The xLean TR1 floor washing robot also features carpet detection, zero tangle, LLM voice interaction, multi-zone intelligent cleaning, and app control to make the chore even breezier. The robot comes in two attractive colorways: Space Silver Edition and Darth Vader Edition. There is no word on pricing and availability as of yet.
