Swedish tech brand Transparent, already known for its products in the audio market, has decided to try something new. Veering from turntables and into the fragrance market, the brand has unveiled the Aroma Diffuser. The aroma diffuser is a way for Transparent to ‘expand the sensory landscape of home’. The diffuser is said to enrich homes naturally and timelessly.
The Transparent Aroma Diffuser follows the same Scandinavian aesthetic as the company’s sound tech products. It is crafted from 75 percent post-consumer recycled aluminum and borosilicate glass and is sustainable.
Functionally, the diffuser uses ultrasonic technology, combining fragrance oil and water, turning it into a fine aromatic mist. The mist then delivers the scent evenly throughout the room without smoke, flames, and pollutants of traditional candles.
The co-founder and creative director, Per Brickstad, states, “Fragrance gives us the ability to experience powerful, instant emotions and memories. We’ve engineered this device in honor of that beautiful sensory phenomenon.”
The diffuser has a cylindrical form and a clear glass reservoir that shows the amount of fragrance oil and water remaining, making it look like a minimalistic lantern. On low setting, the aroma diffuser goes on for 20 hours, and unlike a candle, you can refill it with fresh water and a few drops of essential oil.

Alongside the diffuser’s launch, Transparent has also compiled a Scandinavian-inspired natural essential oil collection, with scents like Pine, Red Cedar, and Spruce, to help users explore their personal fragrance preferences. The Aroma Diffuser is also designed to be completely disassembled for cleaning, maintenance, or upgrades, reflecting the company’s long-term vision for modular design.
The Transparent Aroma Diffuser is designed in line with the company’s approach to modular, circular design principles. The diffuser’s silhouette is inspired by traditional fragrance laboratories, making it a minimalistic, elegant piece. Currently crowdfunding on Kickstarter, interested individuals can back the diffuser for $240 early bird price.
