Kia’s PV5 electric vans are making a significant buzz in the market with their modular PBV ecosystem, which allows you to swap upper body modules according to different needs. You can use a single vehicle as a delivery van or a passenger carrier, but what about a camper? Kia has previously revealed its camper van concept on the same platform that is yet to come to life, but the PV5 electric vans are now available, which means they can also be turned into a camper van. California-based VanLab has done just that for you with its latest rig developed in collaboration with Kia. VanLab, known for making camper kits, has made one for the Kia PV5 vans, which turns its rear into a livable area.

VanLab interior kits transform the 470-cm-long (185-in) Kia PV5 Passenger van for camping purposes. The interior layout gets two benches facing each other behind the van’s second row of seating. The kitchenette slides out from underneath one of the benches, so campers have to cook outside the van; however, the van’s lift-up tailgate provides plenty of overhead coverage.

It includes a portable single-hob induction top for cooking on the go. The interior kit has slide-out countertop surfaces on both sides, offering enough space for food supplies and utensils while cooking.

The seating configuration also includes a slide-out dining table that attaches between the benches and can be retracted back to its slots when it is time to move on the road. When you want to sleep, the benches convert into a double bed with help from the PV5’s folding rear seats. With a simple placement of the kit behind the second row, VanLab has made it possible to transport five people at a time, without needing to remove the camper kit.

The PV5 Passenger model offers great performance with 120 kW power and 250 Nm torque. It comes with a 71.2-kWh NCM battery pack that delivers an estimated 412 km (256 miles) driving range on a single charge.

As noted by New Atlas, the VanLab Kia camper kits are now available for pre-order in South Korea for ₩2,990,000/kit (roughly $2,100) through the official Kia shop.
