Wearables are the undeniable trend at this year’s CES and MeBotX is jumping on the bandwagon with its suite of products. Dubbed the “Wearable Intelligence: The Next Step in Human-Machine Synergy,” the enhanced Xtand Exoskeleton Series combines the mobility solution spanning daily living, rehabilitation, and sports. The holistic approach of integrating the external motion assistance with internal joint protection is something interesting exhibiting at the event.

At the keynote, the company highlights the dual-system approach to create an altogether new category in personal mobility. According to Academician Sun, a renowned figure in robotics and biomechanics, the idea is to move beyond “singular tools toward integrated systems that understand, adapt, and empower the human body in real time.” The Xtand exoskeleton, therefore, addresses the core issue by syncing the human intent and the assistive support a machine can provide. The practical and design-forward approach of the exoskeleton will make human-machine integration more effective for normal users while being highly accessible and comfortable to wear all day.

The assistive wearable innovations include the world’s first AI-driven dynamic knee guard called Xtand Intelligent Patella Strap and the Xtand Exoskeleton Series. Both these wearables come in handy when recovering from an injury, scaling steep mountains, or simply going through your usual day routine. The maker has designed them to actively support you while being adaptable and unobtrusive.

The $129 Xtand Intelligent Patella Strap is an AI-driven wearable that monitors the knee kinematics in tandem with air-pressure support in just 1-3 seconds at 99 percent accuracy. This provides able support and diagnostics on the usage. Wearing the brace all day long will not create any discomfort, as it weighs just 57 grams and is tested for 8 hours of continuous wear. The Patella Strap will be featured in the Smart Living Showcase, an interactive exhibition at CES, so better watch out.

For external support and natural movement, the Xtand Exoskeleton Series is recommended. There are two separate wearables in play here: the Knee-Assist Exoskeleton weighing less than 1.8 kg (each knee module weighing less than 600 grams) and the Hip-Assist Exoskeleton weighing just 2 kg. The former is powered by a 500W motor, and the adaptive algorithms assist in walking, hiking, and climbing stairs. On continuous operation, the Knee-Assist goes for 4 hours on a single charge.

The Hip-Assist wearable has multiple operational modes like Elderly Mobility-Assist, Sports Power-Assist, and Fat-Burning Training. Batteries on this one can be swapped in just under 15 seconds, which makes it hassle-free for extended usage.
