As soon as the news broke out that Yeti was launching a brand-new fire pit (their first in decades), the internet lit up, and Reddit went wild. The subreddit’s thread exploded with over 130 comments, testifying to fans’ love and loyalty toward the Texas-based outdoor consumer goods company. Hardcore Yeti lovers were the first to create the buzz, commenting, “Take my money Yeti”. At the same time, some critics pointed toward the company’s marketing gimmick, noting “Brands slap their name on anything and people will buy it irrespective of quality.” Whichever end of the spectrum you belong to, the truth is that Yeti has garnered an excellent reputation for itself over the years, making its every new launch a prized possession.

The company’s $1,000 brand-new fire pit is made from corten steel, a durable, corrosion-resistant material. It features a 27-inch diameter burn area that swallows standard 16-inch logs, delivering 360 degrees of toasty warmth for storytelling sessions. Other features include tripod legs that keep the fire pit steady on uneven ground, while a beefy lid seals out the elements when it’s time to pack up.

“When you first get your fire pit, it will be a blue steel and may have some marks from manufacturing. Over time, your fire pit will develop a bronze-colored patina that provides a protective layer and extends the life of the steel,” the company informs. Yeti further suggests placing the fire pit at least 25 feet away from homes and overhead trees, and recommends keeping it on a solid surface and in an open area.

Another key consideration is the fire pit’s overall design. The Yeti Fire Pit features an outer diameter of 31 inches and a basin diameter of 27 inches. It stands 11 inches tall, with a basin depth of 6.3 inches. At 70lbs, the fire pit is notably heavy. Considering its dimensions and weight, it’s clearly not built for easy transportation, unless you own something spacious like a Trekka Toy Hauler to accommodate it.

What really sets the fire pit apart is the $500 Grill Kit that comes as an add-on. The Grill Kit, as noted by Gear Junkie, features two cooking surfaces: a small grill grate with an adjustable height and a larger grate that sits right above the fire pit surface. Combined, the two units turn a basic fire pit into a full-on outdoor cooking setup. Some people may still not be impressed, considering the mammoth price tag. But that’s the whole point. The $1,000 Fire Pit, now available on the company’s official site, is bulky, overpriced, and smoke-belching but branded with Yeti’s premium swagger!
