When it comes to renovating/remodeling your home, it’s always good to get things that are trending or innovative. Today, technologies around us have improved to be durable, functional, and aesthetic – and all that is available for more affordable prices. This means you don’t have to break the bank to get your home renovated with advanced technology and other upgraded materials.

To keep pace with the faster moving world, the home improvement industry has also accepted innovations with open arms and offered so many advanced technologies for a better and smart home.

In this article, we will discuss some popular innovations in the home improvement industry that you should be aware of. You can opt for the following options to welcome smarter living.

Smart Light Bulbs

Unlike the traditional lighting system, which was only about switching a light fixture on or off, today things have changed in a big way. Earlier light bulb options were very limited and not very efficient. But nowadays there are so many variations in smart light bulbs.

You can get lights in dozens of colors, and these fixtures can also be dimmed as much or a little as you want. The best thing is you can control them with a smartphone app. Most of these lights consume very less energy and last longer than usual. While you may have to invest a little more in these smart light bulbs, but in the long run, these actually save you money by cutting down the costs of your power bills.

Multi-Use Paint

Even paint has been innovated to a great extent over the years. Today, we have eco-friendly paints available on the market. These are much more safe, affordable, and easier to work with. However, the paint industry still needs to undergo more changes and adapt more innovation.

There are some companies that are trying to redefine what paint can do for your home. For instance, microbicidal paint from Sherwin Williams that’s capable of killing 99.9% of bacteria on the painted surface within a few hours. As you could imagine, this could have huge benefits for those who like to take extra precautions against bacteria.

The great thing is, innovation isn’t slowing down anytime soon, and there is a good chance that soon the paint we put on our walls could interact with you.

Photogrammetry

Photogrammetry is the science of taking accurate measurements from photographs. Earlier, this technique was used for surveying or mapping, as it is a good way to figure out the distance between two points.

However, with the drone market becoming more affordable and with the launch of improved software (and working with iPhone photos), it has many more uses. Now, photogrammetry can be used for home remodeling measurement in much simpler and efficient way. Using this technology, you may determine how much space is available in a room, and how much space is needed for a particular piece of furniture in a room.

Robotics

Robotics is another wonderful and one of the most exciting innovations on the planet so far. In fact, there is a good chance that some of you are already taking advantage of robotics and AI products in your home today. If you have a Roomba or use a Google Home, congratulations, you are using a form of robotics to make your life a little bit more efficient.

The good thing about this innovation is the offerings in the industry are always getting better and more affordable. Soon, our homes will be full of AI-powered robots capable of doing everything from making our toast to setting our appointments and more.
