Project Gutenberg by Pernod Ricard

When everything is getting smartphone-controlled in the smart world, how could the liquor industry remain aloof? Our liquor-frenzy pals have a reason to rejoice – presenting the world’s first smartphone controlled cocktail maker aimed at revolutionizing the concept of home bar. Unveiled by Pernod Ricard (Paris-based alcohol manufacturer) at its annual innovation day, the system is dubbed Project Gutenberg. The smartphone controlled home bar is basically an alcohol container shaped like books. Each of these containers is filled with different kind of liquor.

Project Gutenberg, which is still work-in-progress, allows an user to press glass against it and dispense alcohol. The system will explain steps of how the user can complete a cocktail, thanks to an app (check video). The innovative machine sends out an alert to the homeowner on his/her iPad or smartphone when the content in running low in it. User can then use the mobile device to place an automatic home delivery of a new container.
