Story: World’s First Levitating Timepiece Travels Through Air

Swedish Duo Flyte, well-known for its amazing gravity-defying designs, has created a unique timepiece that takes the time back to its physical routes. Dubbed Story, this exquisite clock is claimed to be the world’s first levitating timepiece. It marks the passage of hours through a levitating silver sphere, which moves around the reassuring wooden base.

The movement of the silver sphere around the wooden base reminds us of the way the earth moves around the sun. However, it gives the notion that everyone on earth has the same 365 days journey. However, everyone’s way of perceiving their time is different.

Rather than considering the time in minutes or hours, Story shows us that time is a physical experience. This timepiece has been designed to change our perspective of how we see the passing of hours. This setup shows the clock as a piece that let the user watch the days float by.

In the most basic sense, this timepiece is fit to be used as a 12-hour clock with a backlit digital display that shows the exact time. In the style of Flyte, the clock defies gravity – all thanks to its levitating design. This timepiece is integrated with the company’s magnetic levitation technology that makes the silver ball float in mid-air while following the passage of time.

It’s amazing how its LED Matrix shows the numerical time while illuminating through the wooden surface. It illuminates real-time meteorological data, like moon phases. Plus, the magnetic sphere levitates horizontally, vertically, or at a 60-degree angle with a mounting kit and stand.

The world’s first levitating timepiece is available in either walnut or ash base. Its mode, display, and time can also be controlled by a Story app on a smartphone. But don’t be fooled by its simple exterior, as it is truly a unique timepiece that’s packed with meaningful layers. Hence, it is a perfect conversation starter and a gift for your loved ones.

If you want to purchase the Story: Levitating Timepiece, you can buy it for €799 (approx. $920) from the company’s website.
