The tiny house movement continues to grow strong in North America and its counterparts, and steadily becoming a cult in Europe too. With more people opting tiny lifestyle over apartment living, the micro dwelling manufacturers are keen to cash in on the burgeoning demand for mobile habitats. To this accord, the German-based builder Berghaus Tiny House is not far behind.

The company has designed Elbrus tiny house that sleeps four people in its modest interior. Measuring around 23 feet long, the tiny house is christened after a cone-shaped mountain in Georgia. Built on a hot-dip galvanized tandem trailer, braked with a jockey wheel, the Elbrus is finished in thermal pine, while interior paneling is done in primed and varnished spruce wood.

You enter directly into the kitchen area which is really simple and subtle. Featuring cupboards with drawers, a sink with a faucet, and appliances including an electric stove, fridge, and a washer/dryer; the kitchen is accoutered with all necessary items. Also, there are overhead cabinets that allow users to store more essentials.

Adjacent is the living room which is quite spacious and features a ‘Fireplace Rocketstove’ and a television mounted on the wall. Though the living room is an open space for now, but it can always be adorned with a couch and a side table. There is no dearth of light in the living room as it features plenty of windows allowing natural light to ‘kiss the interior’.

Then we have the bathroom that has a shower, toilet, and washbasin with a mirror. Above it lies one of the two lofts of the Elbrus tiny house. Since it’s not clearly mentioned how one reached the loft section, I’d assume it can be accessed via a removable ladder. The loft can either function as a bedroom sleeping two men or can be used as a living room, depending on the user’s preference.

The other sleeping loft lies above the living room and can be accessed via storage-integrated staircases. I can also spot a wardrobe built into staircase steps which is a pretty wonderful feature as it helps in saving a lot of space. Speaking of the primary loft, it functions as a bedroom and sleeps two people with ease. Both lofts feature a bookshelf that can be used for storing essentials too.
