Paying homage to the decades long gone has become a tradition in the furniture industry and for good reason. The ’60s and ’70 were rife with exquisite creations that are still inspiring furniture designers. Los Angeles-based firm LAUN is known for designing heirloom-quality furniture for both indoor and outdoor use and this time around, the company has nodded to the quaint charm of the ’70s through its Mondos Club Chair.

Outstanding in the furniture world with its quirky, surf-inspired furniture collection, LAUN worked with Southern California-based Chet Architecture. The six-piece furniture family features beautiful furnishings but the Mondos Club Chair is our favorite.

In a retro form, this tufted chair plays with the aesthetic of the ’70s garden décor and pool culture. The Mondos club chair comes with a colossal wheel fiberglass base and curvy upholstered form. Created through woodworking and metal carving, the bright neon chair is eye-catching as it echoes the wave formed along the beach.

Mondos is part of a new collection that includes a sofa, a loveseat, a side chair, a chaise, a side table, and a coffee table. Each piece is lightweight, durable, and easy to reconfigure. Moreover, this oversized, tufted armchair is perfect for both indoor and outdoor settings.
