There are tiny house manufacturers across the globe who are often found complaining about strict towing laws in their respective countries. These makers put forth an argument that if they were permitted a tiny house bigger than 40ft, they would have been able to offer more features to their clients. On the other hand, Baluchon, a tiny house manufacturer in France, despite all the restrictions, designs tiny houses that are compact yet highly functional. The recent example is that of the Golden Hour tiny house.

Measuring 19.6 feet long, the Golden Hour tiny home is half the size of any North American micro dwelling, yet doubles the comfort. The tiny house is built on a double-axle trailer and features a solid oak and spruce exterior. The mobile habitat boasts red cedar cladding on its exterior, while the interior flaunts a mustard yellow paneling. This probably might have been the reason why Baluchon decided to dub the tiny house the Golden Hour, as both yellow and red hue holds a close resemblance with the color of the Sun when it’s near the horizon.

Even the trailer of the tiny house is painted oxide red to match perfectly with the color of the roofing and exterior joinery. The tiny house further comes accoutered with a number of windows that flood the interior with light, and also allow homeowners to enjoy beautiful scenic views outside. Access to the home is gained through a glass door that welcomes you straight into the living room.

Featuring a blue sofa, a wall shelf, a wood stove, and a side table, the living room is simple and clean. It is also outfitted with a large glazing that keeps the space light-filled during the day, while a pendant light illuminates the space at night. Adjacent to the entrance door is the floating staircase that leads to the loft bedroom of the house. Featuring two units with generous worktops and plenty of storage compartments including a wardrobe unit, the bedroom sleeps two people comfortably.

Downstairs is the kitchen of the Golden Hour tiny house. It includes a drop-down dining table for two, a sink, fridge, electric oven, Klarstein gas hob, and cabinetry alongside plenty of storage units. The kitchen leads to the small bathroom that includes a shower, dry toilets with stainless steel buckets, a shavings compartment, and a small electric towel dryer. This tiny house is a one-off custom-built Baluchon designed for their client Coline who resides in Rhône-Alpes.
