Walls have a character of their own and are complemented by the furniture fitted in the given room, especially shelves. Usually, homeowners choose furnishings that add more personality to the space while offering the expected functionality. Liam de la Bedoyere, a designer from Colchester, United Kingdom, has designed the Omega Shelf to do exactly. The shelf has a bent plywood form that fits in a round clock in a tiny pocket and places miscellaneous items on the linear portions.

The design of the wall-mounted furnishing is inspired by the Omega sign, which represents the electrical resistance units. Omega is also the last letter in the Greek alphabet signifying grand closure. Regardless of the inspiration behind Liam’s design, the Omega shelf is a minimalistic and brilliant piece of furniture.

Liam used bent plywood to form the shelf – which resembles an upside-down Omega symbol – forming a pocket to accommodate a small wall clock or smart speakers available in the market, whatever you want.

Flanking the round pocket on the underside, the shelf has one long arm and a shorter one. This asymmetrical design gives another unique aspect to it. You can use it as a bookshelf or area to display your cherished possessions.

The beauty of this shelf lies in the fact that it can be integrated into a living room, bedroom, kitchen, or even a bathroom. It can also be installed next to the main door to keep important items such as keys or watches.
