Italian furniture brand Acerbis is continuously strengthening its global presence, with its portfolio including names such as Dutch designer Sabine Marcelis who designed Lokum glass side tables. The company also takes an interest in reviving vintage designs that are still relevant to the contemporary landscape. In line with this vision, the brand will be reintroducing the iconic “Palla” armchair, originally designed by Claudio Salocchi in 1969, at Salone del Mobile 2025.

This reissue is part of Acerbis’s Remasters collection, which aims to revive classic designs for modern living. Featuring a rounded ball-like form, it is made of two parts, the seat and footrest that can be placed over the seat when not in use to create a perfect sphere.

Sitting on top of a metal stand, this vintage chair is an unconventional furniture piece. Once both the pieces are slotted together, it is pretty tough to guess the original functionality.

As visible in the pictures, the chair has a fully upholstered design that looks unique and comfy. The seat is deep to envelop the user in comfort while small armrests will keep the arms relaxed.

The Palla armchair is described as something having a radical concept, with its design focused on getting beyond typical furniture forms. The new chair preserves the original dimensions and design integrity. Hypebeast notes, the updated version will be available in both fixed and swivel base options, along with a variety of fabric choices to suit modern interiors.
