I’m not big on grilling, but a good griddle does come in handy, especially for whipping up eggs and stir-fries, which are a huge part of my diet. So naturally, when Solo Stove introduced its Steelfire 30 Griddle, which sent the internet into a frenzy, I couldn’t help but check what the buzz was about. Mind you that Solo Stove has built its reputation on creating innovative fire pits and stoves, but the Steelfire 30 Griddle marks its first foray into the griddle market.
Unlike traditional cast iron griddles, the Steelfire features a three-ply stainless steel-clad surface with a 430 stainless steel foundation, an aluminum core for superior heat transfer, and a 304 stainless steel cooking surface. This robust construction eliminates the need for seasoning, a tedious task associated with cast iron, and offers rust resistance and easy cleanup.
When it comes to cooking, “The griddle heats up in just seven minutes, 35 percent faster than cast iron,” the company claims. This is possible courtesy of its patent-pending dual ‘Solo Racetrack Burners,’ which ensure even heat distribution across the entire cooking surface.
The griddle’s oval shape sets it apart from the standard rectangular designs, giving it a refined aesthetic that aligns with Solo Stove’s signature style. Additionally, the griddle’s design prioritizes ease of use. Its simple control scheme has a couple of knobs and dual-burner that allow for precise culinary control, making it accessible for both novice and experienced cooks.
Compatibility-wise, the Steelfire 30 Griddle caters to a wide range of outdoor cooking needs, from pancakes to smash burgers. On the fuel front, the griddle runs on a 20-lb propane tank with a pre-attached regulator and hose, keeping the setup simple. For added protection, Solo Stove offers a custom shelter cover to shield the griddle from rain, snow, or dust.

Solo Stove has announced a line of customizable accessories, including the Burger Kit, Chef’s Kit, and Essentials Kit, set to launch later in summer 2025, the company teased in a press release. These kits would transform the griddle into a complete outdoor cooking station, enhancing its functionality for various cuisines and cooking styles.
Available exclusively on the SoloStove official website, the Steelfire 30 Griddle is priced at $899 without a stand or $1,199 with a stand. The griddle is currently available for preorder, with shipping expected later in the summer. The Steelfire 30 Griddle enters a competitive market dominated by brands like Blackstone and Traeger, two major players in outdoor griddles. It will be interesting to see if Solo Stove’s technological expertise and focus on premium design give it a strong edge over its counterparts.
