The Addams Family is the eccentric benchmark to which we all measure all things Goth, at least the Millennials. The charmingly bizarre and defiantly stylish family has carved a place for itself in the horror comedy genre, amassing fans from different generations, starting from the 1960s sitcom through 1991 and 1993 movies and more recent Netflix show, Wednesday. The Addams Family and their mansion have served as a gothic pillar. Deriving inspiration from the 1991’s The Addams Family, Petrus Odyssey has created a gothic build set for LEGO Ideas that fans will adore and would love to have for the upcoming spooky season.
The designer has put together a 2,999-piece architectural genius, marked by the same dark elegance of the movie series. The mansion stands tall in stark black and white, with the towering central spire, intricate railings on the roof, and the dark green entrance door, perfectly capturing the Addams’ Goth energy.
Every fan of the horror comedy will love building this house piece by piece, reminiscing about the first time they met the Addams Family. The LEGO house opens up dollhouse-style, exposing an extensively detailed interior that allows for interactive display and play.
The best part is that you can detach various wings of the mansion to reveal the minute details, with Easter eggs for the dedicated fans. For instance, you can separate the greenhouse module or the wing from Uncle Fester’s bedroom and the dining room. You can imagine Lurch grunting as he walks through the foyer, or Thing scurrying across the table.
The interior is dotted with thoughtful touches: Fester’s bedroom, the dining room with a banquet table, and the tentacled bathtub in the bathroom all give the authentic Addams vibe. The multiple-story mansion features the grand staircase, family portraits adorning the walls, and even a suit of armor standing guard to complete the details.

Don’t worry, Petrus Odyssey didn’t forget the eccentric residents of the mansion and has designed a set of minifigures. You can rest assuredly find Moritcia, Gomez, Uncle Fester, Wednesday, Pugsley, Lurch, Cousin Itt, and even Thing. Each minifigure bears the distinctive looks and accessories of its namesake.
Currently on the LEGO Ideas website, the build set is not yet an actual product. With some luck, it could go into production so the Goth fans may own this Addams Family LEGO set ahead of Halloween.
