Jackery is no stranger to portable power backup; it is, in fact, celebrating the 10th anniversary of its first portable power station with a commitment to provide clean power to the first responders.

The company has, for the campaign called “Power the Rescuers,” joined forces with the American Red Cross. The initiative introduces Jackery’s HomePower Emergency Pro Series, which is a specialized collection of portable battery backup systems designed especially for first responders, disaster relief workers, on-field medics, and many other volunteers, providing them with dependable, clean energy when they need it the most.

This collaboration is a first for the American Red Cross, which has never shared its name with a power backup system before. While this is a significant consumer assurance, it is also an approval of Jackery’s batteries that have already found a reliable footing in the residential backup market.

Now, as the global grids become vulnerable in extreme weather conditions, Jackery is venturing beyond residential and commercial systems to a more noble cause. With this new initiative, the company is providing a cleaner and quieter alternative to gas generators that currently form the backbone of energy assistance in disaster-stricken areas.

The Emergency Pro Series comprises systems that emit close to zero toxic fumes (which is unavoidable with gas generators), and are extremely portable to carry and install in makeshift emergency shelters, clinics etc., to run sensitive medical devices, GPS systems, internet routers, and more.

The series is built around three different Jackery battery models, the HomePower 3000 Plus and the HomePower 2000 Plus v2, in two distinct capacities. All the units feature a bold “rescue red” color theme and have an American Red Cross logo stamped at a prominent place on their façade.

The HomePower 3000 Plus is the most powerful of the lot with 3.6kWh capacity. It can be used in larger shelters or command centers to power “multi-channel communication arrays, perimeter lighting, and high-draw extrication equipment like hydraulic spreaders and rotary hammers,” without noise or toxic fumes.

The 2000 Plus v2 is available in 2kWh and 1kWh capacities, to provide clean power backup to run medical devices like ventilators, defibrillators, Static Cold Storage (SCS) preserving transplant organs, or to run radio communication, GPS systems, Wi-Fi, and more.

Jackery offers these units with some advanced features tailored for the needs of the responders and rescue workers. Automated Proactive Charging allows the installed device to begin charging automatically on severe weather alerts, so it’s available in full force when the grid fails. Once charged, the Emergency Power Lock feature allows the user to lock a reserved charge level, so the backup is always ready and doesn’t deplete during non-critical times.

In order to ensure that the HomePower Emergency Pro Series equipment reaches where it’s most needed, Jackery is earmarking 10 percent of all Red Cross edition profits to fund clean and dependable backup power systems sent to field workers and first responders. The company is also committed to complete transparency in how much difference it is able to create with the Emergency Pro series. To that accord, on August 19 (World Humanitarian Day) every year, Jackery will release a public impact report detailing how many units were deployed along with the name of the relief organization(s) that received them.
