With IFA 2025 around the corner, we would expect Samsung to make announcements regarding new TV tech or bring some major upgrades to their refrigerator lineup. Turns out Samsung is prioritizing something entirely different at the moment. Samsung’s latest addition to its Bespoke AI lineup is a water purifier. Unlike Waterdrop or Tokit, which offer budget-friendly options, the Samsung Bespoke AI Countertop Water Purifier is priced at $1,000.
Available only in South Korea at the moment, this high-tech water purifier is packed with cutting-edge features. As per Samsung, its water purifier removes an impressive 82 types of harmful substances, including heavy metals, microplastics, and other contaminants, outpacing competitors in the purifier market. So how does it do it?
Well, Samsung uses a four-stage filtration system equipped with a stainless steel direct water pipe that’s corrosion-resistant. As explained by Tom’s Guide, “Every three days, the purifier uses electrolysis to make sure the water pipes are sterilized.” Thanks to the Samsung SmartThings app, users get an alert when the filter needs to be replaced.
The AI-driven functionality is not limited to giving alerts. The integrated Samsung SmartThings app and Bixby voice assistant let you control water volume and temperature with simple voice commands or your smartphone. Want 520ml of purified water at 10 degrees Celsius? Just ask Bixby, and it’s done. The system even sends reminders when it’s time to replace the filter, making maintenance a breeze.
Beyond its technical prowess, the Bespoke AI Water Purifier is just 6.6 inches wide, which makes it surprisingly compact, fitting neatly on any countertop. The purifier is available in three color options: Satin Beige, Satin Greige, and Soapstone Charcoal, and is designed to blend into modern kitchens while offering a premium aesthetic.

But the question arises, do we need AI in a water purifier? For some, the ability to set precise water volumes or control the device remotely is a game-changer, especially in busy households or for those with accessibility needs. Others might see it as overkill when a traditional purifier gets the job done for a fraction of the cost.
A standard countertop purifier from brands like Simpure or Piurify can cost under $300, and even premium models rarely approach $1,000. Having said that, the Bespoke AI Water Purifier is undeniably a luxury purchase, but it is worth the investment; only time will tell. If you’re intrigued, keep an eye out for updates on a potential U.S. release.
