There’s no denying that the Amazon Echo Show has frustrated plenty of users. From occasional glitches and unavoidable ads, the experience hasn’t been up to par. So when I first heard of the Amazon fall event, I knew Amazon was cooking something big. As it turns out, Amazon has introduced its most advanced smart displays yet: the Echo Show 8 and the Echo Show 11 during the event.
To put it in a disclaimer, both the Echo Show 8 and 11 are focused on design. So if you were longing for Amazon to ease up on the ads, don’t have high hopes. While the devices retain the familiar ads and occasional glitches, they mark a significant upgrade in aesthetics and functionality. This includes thinner bezels and a floating design that gives the displays a more refined, tablet-like look.
The new Echo Show models feature high-definition displays (8.7 inches for the Echo Show 8 and 11 inches for the Echo Show 11) with in-cell touch and negative liquid crystal technology for sharper visuals in any lighting conditions. The display is complemented by rounded oblong speakers that lie behind the screen and are wrapped in 3D-knit fabric, adding a stylish touch to the unit.
The screens are positioned slightly above and set apart from the speakers, allowing room for sound to project clearly and for your voice to reach the Show’s microphones. Altogether, this design delivers a polished appearance with adjustable angles for ideal positioning. Both models sport vibrant, million-pixel screens for vivid visuals, right from Alexa responses to photos and calendars.
The Echo Show 8 and 11 have a 13-megapixel camera that enables user recognition for personalized greetings and tailored content, while adaptive displays ensure clear viewing. Overall, the devices serve as hubs for entertainment, smart home control, and organization, with a media control center for easy access to music, podcasts, and books, plus seamless multi-device management.
Another highlight of the lineup is the Alexa+ integration, which enhances smart home integration, supporting Zigbee, Matter, and Thread protocols for thousands of devices, alongside Ring camera event summaries. Family organization is streamlined with color-coded calendars and proactive scheduling, while a shopping widget simplifies Amazon, Whole Foods, and Amazon Fresh orders with voice or tap controls.
Other features include Oura integration for personalized wellness prompts, with plans to support Withings and Wyze. The audio experience shines with front-facing stereo speakers and a custom woofer, delivering immersive spatial sound. The Echo Show 8 is priced at $180, while the Echo Show 11 can be availed for $220. Both sizes are now available for preorder directly on Amazon and will begin shipping on November 12, 2025, as per the company’s press release.
