CES 2026 may have brought up plenty of good TVs, including Micro-LEDs or picture frame TVs, but AWOL Vision got plenty of limelight for its latest Aetherion series of 4K ultra short throw (UST) projectors. The lineup comprises Aetherion Max and Aetherion Pro – both featuring the proprietary PixelLock Technology to maintain 4K fidelity on screens up to 200 inches. These triple-laser projectors are designed to ensure speed, scale, and sharpness in your viewing experience.

The main highlight of the projector is the PixelLock technology that works by combining optical, mechanical, and digital alignment systems into one unit. It ensures every single pixel of a 4K image is fused, synchronized, and perfectly positioned on the screen. PixelLock also solves the common pixel drift and color separation problems of UST projectors. The company explains, this technology can be helpful in cases of lens element tolerances, temperature-induced expansion, micro-warping of UST angles, reflective path inconsistencies, and DLP sequencing artifacts.

Both projectors employ a Sapphire glass lens with rare-earth coating to deliver sharp images with zero color fringing while enhancing light transmission, contrast, and color accuracy. They come with features like Dolby Vision, IMAX Enhanced, HDR10+, and Filmmaker Mode support for more visual accuracy.

The projectors offer 6,000:1 native contrast, while the difference comes in the brightness levels. Aetherion Max reaches 3,300 ISO lumens brightness, while Aetherion Pro delivers 2,600 ISO lumens brightness. Other highlights include the EBL Shadow Refinement with a 7-level IRIS system that shapes brightness and optimizes shadow detail scene-by-scene, and Anti-RBE technology that reduces the rainbow effect by 99.99% for distraction-free viewing. Also, the Dynamic Tone Mapping (DTM) tech helps optimize HDR in real-time for a better viewing experience.

In addition to visual performance, Aetherion projectors can also function as a built-in center-channel speaker when paired with a home audio system, allowing users to route audio directly through the projector. One feature we liked the most is the motorized dust-seal lens cover that helps you keep it clean even after years of use.

AWOL Vision has also added some features to attract gamers, which include the 1ms-class input latency at 240Hz, VRR, ALLM, and the industry’s first Dolby Vision Gaming. The MT9655 chipset with 8GB RAM & 128GB EMMC memory, Google Android TV 14.0 OS, and Gigabit Ethernet + Wi-Fi 7 support further enhances the overall user convenience.

Slated for April 2026 release, the AWOL Vision Aetherion Max will be available to purchase for a retail price of $4,499, and the Aetherion Pro for $3,499. They will initially launch through a Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign in early February, where you can avail will be available at discounted prices.
