Gustaf Westman unveils a chunky curling bowl, designed to mimic the silhouette of a curling stone to celebrate the 2026 Olympic Winter Games. The Swedish designer has reimagined the curling stones as a fun, dual-function snack bowl, which will come in handy to munch on while watching your favorite games.

The glossy bowl has a playful and toy-like appearance with a blue pastel hue. Its thick rims and inflated form look like an inflated candy-colored balloon. The chunky curling bowl easily glides across the table with a push, mimicking the granite stone sliding on the curling sheet towards the house.

Inspired by the granite curling stone, the designer created a snack bowl with an exaggerated and oversized design. The handles of the chunky bowl look like two parallel, tubular handles merged into one unified structure. This larger-than-necessary handle gives a cartoonish, whimsical charm to the tableware. He intentionally created the quirky, round bowl to challenge the lack of humor prevalent in the design industry.

The chunky handle isn’t just for show. The parallel twin handles can easily hold a wine glass. If you are having snacks like fries or cheese balls, just pour ketchup into the glass, place it between the spaces of the handle, and enjoy your treat. Or you can just sip wine.

While adjusting the wine glass is the easy part, putting snacks in the bowl can be quite challenging. The handle occupies the space above the central cavity of the bowl, reducing the vertical clearance. You won’t be able to pour your snacks quickly like in regular bowls. You need to tilt it a bit sideways or adjust your hand to carefully guide the snacks into the cavity.

The designer bowl serves as a unique décor item as well. It transforms your everyday snack time into a design statement with its glossy and sculptural form.

If you are hosting a game weekend or a party, flaunt the chunky curling bowl and impress your guests with this special tableware. The round bowl pairs with the chunky plates and cups with its similar thick design. Although there is no word on the pricing and availability, we assume it will arrive before the 2026 holiday season.
