Cambridge Audio has expanded its audio offerings with the new MSX modular speaker system as its entry-level solution for home audio. Touted as a direct refresh of the earlier Minx speakers, the series sits below the brand’s high-performance bookshelf speakers and the newly launched L/R Series of active wireless systems. The range includes two satellite speakers and two subwoofers that can be mixed and matched for 2.1 stereo or full 5.1 surround sound setups.
Cambridge Audio describes MSX as Minx reborn, but with significant design and audio upgrades. One thing that remains unchanged is the wide dispersion and big sound despite the compact size. The name has been changed to match Cambridge Audio’s latest naming strategy for consistent branding. The speakers now have a more polished, premium look with better materials and design. All the models are finished in matte-black or matte-white colorways, for a design-led look.
At the core of the MSX series is the Balanced Mode Radiator (BMR) technology, which combines a dynamic drive unit performance with bending-wave dispersion from a single advanced driver to create a cohesive sound with wide dispersion. This delivers a room-filling sound wherever you are sitting in a room.
The bookshelf speakers come in two models. The MSX10 is an ultra-compact single-cube satellite speaker using a fourth-generation Balanced Mode Radiator (BMR) driver, while the MSX20 is a model featuring two BMR drivers for greater power.

On the other hand, low frequencies are handled by MSX Sub 200 and MSX Sub 300. The MSX Sub 200 is a compact subwoofer with an integrated 200W amplifier and 6.5-inch driver, and the MSX Sub 300 is a more powerful 300W unit with an 8-inch woofer. Both models use forward-firing drivers, high-efficiency Auxiliary Bass Radiators (ABRs), and precision Digital Signal Processing (DSP) to maintain tight control and musical accuracy.
The speakers are easy to connect to any amp or AV receiver using standard cables, including 4mm banana plugs. You can place them on a table or mount them on a wall, with extra adjustable mounts and stands available.
These speakers are designed to deliver stereo and surround sound without dominating your room. The Cambridge Audio MSX speaker range will be available this month, with prices ranging from $99 for MSX10 to $549 for MSX Sub 300.
