Forged by the artisanal hands at Atelier Bois d’ici, the customized Chillhouse stands as a beautiful testament to minimalist, mobile living, as envisioned by Mellisa, the owner of the house. Spanning a compact 21 feet in length, this European-compliant dwelling is sculpted from locally sourced, sustainably harvested timber and is fully off-grid.

Its timber exterior blends seamlessly into natural landscapes, presenting a structure that is both a sturdy shelter and an organic extension of the environment. Engineered entirely for self-sufficiency, its architectural brilliance lies in its ability to step completely off the grid, transforming the traditional house into a free-roaming sanctuary.

Inside, you find an intentional sanctuary where raw, natural wood grains meet clean, modern lines. The layout is a masterclass in deft space allocation, designed for two people to live full-time.

The transition between the welcoming lounge and the utilitarian core feels fluid, creating an atmospheric expansiveness that stands in stark contrast with the home’s modest physical footprint. Based on a double-axel trailer, the tiny house also has an outdoor storage box and a little deck area.

The kitchen of the Chillhouse honors the culinary ritual through unpretentious design, omitting bulky upper cabinets to allow two large windows to flood the workspace with shifting daylight. Tucked past the kitchen, the bathroom operates as a minimalist sanctuary where water and wood find an eco-conscious harmony.

The physical layout relies heavily on hidden utility. A custom-crafted, storage-integrated staircase acts as both a functional pathway and a sculptural partition. This timber stairway ascends into a cozy loft bedroom that sleeps two in its low-ceiling expanse. There is a suspension net next to the loft for idling the days away.

Below, the living space integrates smart, multipurpose furniture with high-efficiency amenities. As mentioned before, the tiny house runs off-grid. The power is generated by a wind turbine, along with solar panels, a battery, and an inverter. For water, the micro-dwelling has a 390-liter tank and 3000-liter flexible tank under the structure. Needless to say, the Chillhouse tiny house maps out a footprint for self-sustaining downsized living.
