Hollywood’s most enduring and loving A-list celebrity couple, Sarah Michelle Gellar, aka Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and husband Freddie Prinze, has listed their Mandeville Canyon Estate for sale. The couple met on the sets of I Know What You Did Last Summer in 1997 and tied the knot in 2002. Located in Brentwood’s most coveted Mandeville Canyon, the expansive property with five bedrooms and six bathrooms offers sophisticated seclusion from crowded residential places.

The A-list celebrity couple has been married for over two decades and raised their two kids in this resort-style property. Over the years, they customized the Mandeville Canyon Estate to suit their lifestyle, upgrading it with a flush swimming pool in the trimmed lawn and turning the skylight gabled attic into a teen hangout area by installing arcade game machines. The private balcony, barbecue area, and lounge area, combined with the pool, provide a one-of-a-kind outdoorsy experience.

Greg and Grace Shain, the owners of Los Angeles-based contracting and development firm Shain Development, built and designed the Mandeville Canyon Estate in 2006. Spread across 7,300 square feet, the façade of this three-story building flaunts a lovely white board-and-batten siding with bulky stone chimneys on both sides. The massive chimneys add rustic texture to the building while the dark shutters contrast against its white exterior.

The framed dormer windows and double-hung windows brighten the interior with natural daylight. The classic French doors on the ground floor maintain a seamless connection with the outdoors and add contemporary charm to the building. The entrance opens into a double-height formal entry foyer that exudes a soothing East Coast elegance. The hardwood flooring adds warmth to the living space and grounds the white monotone of the interior.

The open layout offers fluid movement across the various zones. The cozy living room has a wet bar and a wine room with a classic white mantel over a wood-burning fireplace. The round wooden dining table, right between the living room and kitchen, becomes a gathering space while the expansive island anchors the ground-floor living space.

The marble-topped island serves as a prep station, and its integrated seating transforms it into a breakfast nook. The oversized hanging pendant lights above the island add a modern décor style to the kitchen.

The sweeping staircase adorned with a neutral carpet runner leads to the primary suite on the second story. The suite is a secluded, private space with a large walk-in closet and a spacious spa-inspired bathroom. You can feel the fresh, open air from the private balcony, overlooking the beautiful surroundings and lush lawn below.

A dedicated home office provides a private space where you can work in a peaceful environment. The aforementioned gabled roof attic is a flexible hangout zone functioning as a playroom for kids or for recreational purposes.

The lush pool in the expansive lawn and multiple outdoor amenities transform Mandeville Canyon Estate into a resort-style retreat where you can enjoy a refreshing outdoor life in complete privacy. The property is currently listed with Christie’s International Real Estate Southern California’s agent, Cindy Ambuehl, for $10.5 million.
