Utah-based company ADDAX first unveiled its Jeep-branded travel trailer at the 2022 SEMA show, where it got plenty of attention. The trailer has now evolved into a more feature-rich production model that is one of the few officially Jeep-licensed overland trailers available on the market. Inspired by military-grade surveillance trailers, the latest version retains its rugged steel foundation while adding upgraded camping and utility features for Jeep owners.

Measuring 6 x 6 feet (1.8 x 1.8 meters), the all-new Basecamp 3.0 (V3) overlanding trailer is engineered as a compact but high-capacity hauler that can survive rugged off-road terrain. Even after adding the removable front towing arm, the total trailer length stays about 10 feet (3 meters), making it much shorter than most traditional camper trailers.

The travel trailer leverages the same steel-on-steel construction of the earlier model, featuring a 14-gauge body steel atop a crossbar-reinforced steel chassis with powder-coated for corrosion protection and fenders rated to support 600 lbs (272 kg).

The Basecamp V3 looks like a small square drop camper trailer, but its inside space is too small for sleeping. Unlike most square drop trailers, this one does not even have enough interior room for one person to sleep comfortably. Instead, the interior space is meant for cargo management utilizing the sidewall MOLLE panels, MOLLE shelving, two slide-outs, and plenty of clear, open space left over. The storage area is accessed through a door that takes up nearly the entire front wall and a wide split-tailgate opening created by flip-up and drop-down doors.

The front door of the trailer opens to a slide-out 53-liter fridge/freezer, while the rear section includes another slide-out with a sink and countertop for setting up a camping stove. Fresh water is supplied from an 83-liter tank with a built-in pump. The Basecamp V3 also includes a 100-Ah lithium battery, a 1,500-W inverter, a DC-DC charger plugged into the tow vehicle via a seven-pin connection, a 30-A shore power hookup, and optional solar charging. There is a panel on the sides that houses the switches for all the electrical equipment.

The Basecamp V3 employs a Centori aluminum-hardshell tent with a fold-out floor extension to create sleeping space for up to four people. The setup can be unfolded quickly in just a few minutes and expands out from the side of the trailer to create extra covered space. It also works together with the large 270-degree awning attached to the rooftop bars of the tent. A perimeter L-track system around the roof allows users to securely mount extra gear, while the new V3 model also adds a 26 x 40-inch (66 x 102-cm) fold-out deck for carrying supplies such as firewood and camping equipment.

The ADDAX Basecamp V3 travel trailer weighs about 1,800 lbs (816 kg) dry and has a payload of 1,450 lbs (658 kg). It maintains 17 inches (43 cm) of ground clearance with help from its 3,500-lb dual-torsion-axle suspension and includes electromagnetic drum brakes for improved stopping power.

As mentioned by New Atlas, the 2026 Basecamp V3 price starts ranges between US$18,000 to $19,000. There are optional upgrade packages for equipment like A/C and heat, solar panels, a water heater, an onboard air compressor, an articulating off-road hitch, a stove, a quick-deploy shower and privacy tent, and a Dometic portable toilet.
