For some, music is just sound. For others, it’s an experience. Ask any dedicated audiophile, and they will tell you what a perfect note, rhythm, and system mean to them. For collector’s that value music and its machinery, the Bang & Olufsen Beosystem 3000c is the Holy Grail of all speakers. With only 100 units available, the Danish hi-fi gear manufacturer has resurrected a 1985 Beogram turntable and paired it with cutting-edge Beolab 8 speakers, creating a sonic experience that’s as rare as it is remarkable.
After reviving the Beosound 9000 CD player and the Beogram 4000c, this is Bang & Olufsen’s third release under ‘Recreated Classics Series,’a lineup that takes iconic designs from the brand’s past and reimagines them for today. The biggest talking point of Beosystem 3000c is the Beogram 3000 turntable.
This isn’t some shiny new replica; each of the 100 units has been painstakingly refurbished at B&O’s Factory 5 in Struer, Denmark. “Paired with a set of Beolab 8 speakers, together they become the Beosystem 3000c,” states the company. Limited to 100 units only, the turntable and the speaker are decked out in matching walnut lamellas, pearl-blasted aluminum, and feature a fresh dust lid that looks like it could grace a gallery. The turntable’s floating silhouette, as Gear Patrol notes, adds an elegance that makes it a room’s centrepiece. Meanwhile, the Beolab 8s, with their compact yet commanding presence, seem ready to breathe life into music.
But this isn’t just a pretty face. The Beogram 3000c has more to offer. As pointed out by Hi Consumption, the “most turntables rely on pivoted tonearms that introduce tracking error as they move across the record, the Beogram 3000’s inherent linear tracking system eliminates distortion by maintaining a constant 90-degree angle to the groove.” However, it is to be noted that the tonearm is fully automated to move inward as the record is played.
Moving on, the turntable is then paired with two Beolab 8 wireless speakers. Powered by B&O’s Mozart platform, these speakers support Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, Apple AirPlay, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, and TIDAL Connect. Overall, the Beosystem 3000c delivers sound that’s rich, clear, and downright captivating.
At $30,000, the Beosystem 3000c is a luxury splurge. But with limited availability worldwide, it’s as exclusive as it is pricey. No wonder, TechRadar laments it is “a dream I only wish I could afford one.” Nevertheless, affluent audiophiles can snag one select Bang & Olufsen stores or online at the Bang & Olufsen website.
