Oreo cookies have always been a favorite childhood snack for millions, and still are. The brand always brings something new to the shelf. However, this new Oreo variety is the rarest of all, in terms of flavor and color; it’s just too pretty to eat. This newest cookie is the result of the most iconic and buttery smooth collaboration between Oreo and the biggest South Korean boy band, BTS, AKA Bangtan Boys.

Dropping on June 1, Oreo and BTS designed 13 unique and limited edition purple cookies, with special edition brown sugar pancake crème filling inspired by hotteok, a famous filled pancake, which is a beloved Korean street food, for fans to adore. It’s already a hot deal among the fanatics.

Since its debut in 2013, the boy band has become a prodigy in the global music industry. Now, it is one of the most loved K-pop groups with a massive fan base around the world. To celebrate the band’s 13th anniversary, Oreo introduces purple cookie wafers, using the color for the first time.

The idea of using the color purple is deeply rooted in the band’s visual identity. But not just the band, purple is also a nod to its famous and adorable fandom, known as the BTS Army. For the fans, ‘I purple you’ means ‘I love you.’

After being on a long hiatus, the band has recently debuted with the latest album, leaving the Army emotional. These BTS and Oreo cookies add a cherry on top, uniting Army and Oreo lovers once again for musical delicacy, featuring 13 beautifully embossed designs.

The designs include the names of BTS members, heartfelt messages to the BTS Army, BTS’s iconic lightstick, and the illustrious finger-heart gesture, a universal language of love, popularized by the K-pop industry.

As the Food & Wine reports, “We explained to Oreo what that flavor tastes like and wanted to share with everyone the kinds of dessert flavors Koreans enjoy. The cookies really taste a lot like hotteok,” BTS member Jin said in a press release.

If you are a die-hard BTS fan and love to chomp on musical munchies, then you must hurry because these cookies are here for a limited time. With the massive BTS fanbase, you can imagine how hard it will be to get your hands on this delightful snack. These newest cookies are already a global sensation.

These limited-edition and collectible BTS and Oreo cookies will be available to preorder starting June 1 on Oreo’s website. So, be ready and see if you can snag them.
