Cool dad builds Barbie Dream House for his little princess

Probably every little girl around the world wants to have their own Barbie Dream House. But Frank Howarth, who surely must be nominated as the ‘dad of the year,’ has turned his daughter Claire’s dream into a beautiful reality. He created a modular Barbie House structure that his daughter can arrange any way she likes.

DIY Project

The doll house structure is made out of 1/2-inch and 5/8-inch birch plywood. The doors and stair treads are cut on the CNC router, and then sanded for the smooth finish. To begin with, Howarth started building individual floors – each with a room and a balcony at one end.

An elegant spiral staircase has also been created for the dolls to easily access all the three floors and a roof deck. However, these dolls cannot move by themselves – Claire needs to move them manually from one floor to another. Well, that’s indeed the fun part for the young girl while playing with her Barbie dolls.

Instead of creating a fully-decked up and painted doll house, Howarth decided to build a modular system. This is because he didn’t want to interfere with what Claire already had in her mind about her dream Barbie house. According to Howarth, this modular structure gives flexibility to Claire for rearranging or painting the dollhouse structure in future.

Check out the full video tutorial to see how this beautiful doll house has been constructed. In the video, you can also see Claire helping her father to build her dream Barbie house, and she herself decorated each floor with adorable Barbie accessories.
