The Sage collection, designed by award-winning American architect David Rockwell, will be staged from 18-21 September at this year’s London Design Festival. Rockwell collaborated with leading British furniture maker Benchmark to create this well-suited collection for offices and commercial environments as well as the home.

Furniture Reflecting Comfort and Inviting Ergonomics

Sage furniture collection has been designed and built with the main focus on human health and well-being within the built environment. Created after the idea of biophilic design, the collection comprises natural materials, colors and textures, rounded profiles and inviting ergonomic shapes.

Rockwell crafted the series to reflect the four principles most important to the modern workforce: wellness, comfort, privacy, and flexibility. These elements are the specialty of both Benchmark and Rockwell’s work. Together with an interest in transformation and mobility, they created a collection that gives moments of refuse and prospect.

The Sage Collection is Suitable for Offices and Homes Alike

Comprising a collection of sit-stand desks and workbenches, meeting tables, sofas, chair, occasional tables and storage, Sage is crafted out of natural, sustainable non-toxic materials and finishes in combinations of ash, sycamore, and oak with patinated copper accents and textured wool coverings.

The Sit-Stand Desk and Workbench

This item is inspired by the drafting desk. It provides a solution for flexible work surfaces. The desk has rounded corners and soft edges and can be transformed from seating to standing with a click of a button. The workbench features an intersecting arch and pinboard privacy panels.

The Sage Sofa

This article might be the most attractive in the collection. It is subtly and beautifully detailed with carved wooden frame which marvelously showcases the texture of timber. The relaxing and inviting cushions are fashioned out of natural materials such as coir, latex, sheep’s wool, and recycled cotton.

The whole collection reveals the skilled woodworking and value of craftsmanship of Rockwell and Benchmark. This furniture range will be comfortable and welcoming in any space it is put in. The Sage collection provides complete material transparency and low chemical emission.

This collection will be launched with a certification to provide international recognition of its sustainability and its concern for the environment and human health.
