Tech-savvy persons awe such furniture that elegantly reflects their geeky credentials. Instead of buying a hi-tech furniture, a Redditor [DarrenDK] has built a DIY EPROM coffee table that is installed with UV erasable memory chip to hide stored data in sunlight. The design of this unique table is inspired from Evil Mad Scientist’s 555 footstool that resembles a 555 timer chip.

[DarrenDK] decided to build an identical huge replica of the footstool, using a similar construction technique. Since this one is larger than the original footstool design, the legs and sides of this table are made out of plywood laminations, covering the ends, top, and bottom with wooden panels. After assembling together all tabletop as well as leg pieces, it’s painted in similar colors as that of a timer chip.

Its lift top surface is installed with two-way mirror at center along with UV erasable chip to store electronic data, which erases when table comes in contact with UV rays. To keep built-in LED running on its infinity mirror, the table also requires an electric supply. Apart from, technical features the table has fully-functional storage space beneath the tabletop to keep your books, magazines or other stuff safely inside.

The hi-tech coffee table is idyllic to add geeky charm within any contemporary living room. If you’re willing to construct the same table yourself then you can go though the designer’s instructions on Reddit and Imgur. As of now, check out the images given below to find out how the coffee table was designed.
