Anita Holland, a DIY enthusiast from Australia and parent of two new Jack Russell Terrier puppies – Pepsi and Max -has built a cute little hobbit-style dog house for them. She came up with the project after realizing these pups were pushing her 14-year dog out of his bed.

This dog house provides the pups with a warm and cozy place to rest and sleep when Anita is out for work. She has opted for a wooden dog house that is durable and can’t be pawed by the pups who have destroyed soft beds earlier.

Anita has used a recycled coffee table for the base. Its legs are cut down to some extent, but to ensure the base of the dog house keeps slightly off the floor. The sides of the dog house are crafted using 12mm plywood while some carpet tiles are added to keep it warmer within.

This DIY dog house is painted using grey acrylic paint and sealed with two coats of polyurethane. The final touch is given by adding vinyl decals.

Pepsi and Max’s new house inscribed with “Two Spoilt Rotten Jack Russell’s Live Here” looks really cool! If you wish to make one, you can check out the full tutorial at Unique Creations by Anita.
