Lisa Eisenman-Salley, owner of Something Special Flowers shop in Old Greenwich, Connecticut, puts decoration and displays outside her shop every year during Halloween that elicit differnet reactions from onlookers. This year she went a little political with a skeletal Donald Trump display alongside a witch skeleton, quoting, “This year was a little political satire. That’s all.”

The display hangs from a tree outside Salley’s shop. One is a skeleton witch attired in black giving off a perfect Halloween vibe, and the other one is a skeleton version of the former US President Donald Trump, which she has embellished with a puff of hair, red tie, and oversized black coat. Initially, Salley’s display for this year started with just the witch but later she decided to add Donald Trump for a bit of satirical touch.

There is also a third skeleton outside her store sitting on a planter. This one features a shaggy rock star hair, a leather jacket, and a guitar. Her quirky displays have always been the talk of the town. For example, few years ago her witch display prompted strong reactions from people.

According to Salley, the Trump and the witch display are only meant to make people laugh. However, despite her good intentions, they too ended up causing a stir among people.

She said that her intention was not to hurt anyone’s sentiments but to simply bring some Halloween spirit and cheer among the community. However, things did not go as planned. Where some people were amused, some were highly outraged and offended. Nonetheless, she took the criticism and remained positive.

She said, “In the years before, it doesn’t matter what you do out there, there’s always somebody’s not gonna be happy, and that’s OK, but there are a lot of people that are loving it too.”
