Air purifiers of all stripes offer different features. What remains consistent with the ones I have used is their average looks and their limited ability to capture airborne fur in my home, which I share with my fur shooters: Max the golden and Mogo the house cat.
When the Dreame FP10 Air Purifier arrived at my doorstep, trust me, I was expecting the same. Another rectangular appliance that will sit in one corner of the house and do an inadequate job of cleaning the air. But, from the very moment I removed it from the packaging to this time – almost four weeks later – the experience has only been different.
It is a nicely designed, cream-colored air purifier, resting its curves inside a rectangular package. From the look of it, it’s hard to tell if it’s truly an air purifier. It’s like a beautiful floor-standing speaker ready to blast some music. The delightful aesthetics of the air purifier go well with the pastel walls of my house. It’s slightly noisy in a smaller room, but its ability to capture fur so effectively and self-clean tangling hair off its filters is just making this air purifier a better part of my clean home.
What I Like:
- Self-cleaning, pet-friendly design
- Furniture-like pleasing aesthetics
- Effective at capturing fur, odors, and airborne particles
- Low-maintenance as compared to other pet-focused air purifiers
What I Don’t Like:
- Fur-catching is best noticed at high fan speeds
- Purifier motor is slightly noisy
Dreame FP10 is Focused on Homes With Pets
If you’re someone who wants a lot of features in your purchase, but don’t want to compromise functionality either, the Dreame FP10 is a viable option. The air purifier is designed especially for homes with pets, with stable construction and protected cabling for stress-free use around curious pets like my cat Mogo. It purifies the air you breathe by effectively capturing floating hair and dust, and chemically neutralizes pet and cooking odors, offering a home clean to share with children and elderly parents.
The tower purifier with its furniture-like aesthetic comes with a flat top, which Mogo has made her secure perch. When she’s not on it, I use it as a side table, while Max sits alongside in anticipation of some treat off the table (which he never gets, of course). The canvas top supports up to 33 lbs. in weight; Mogo is smiling because she’s not as heavy. The purifier is built sturdy with a stable base to remain balanced during occasional nudges and cat jumps. In case of an accident, it is designed to automatically shut off immediately if ever tipped over.

The adjustable LED light strip that circles the upper portion of the FP10 creates cozy ambient room lighting in the evenings. It has become a surprisingly good night light for my cat to move about, and also makes the room feel less dark without being distracting. Dreame’s pet-focused design of the FP10 extends beyond air purification. It comes with an optional Pet Weighing Tray (my unit came without it), which supports up to a 15 kg and syncs directly with the Dreamehome app to record weights and daily routines of multiple pets you may have at home.
How is the Dreame FP10 Different From Other Air Purifiers?
Dreame was kind in sending me the FP10 air purifier. But before I got down to using it, I went through the consumer reviews online to understand what people thought about it after purchasing it. User reviews are largely positive and align pretty much with the things I have felt using it. So, I’ll break it down in steps for you to figure out what’s what.
One thing that’s apparent – from the marketing spec sheet and the functional buildup of the Dreame FP10: it is an ideal air purifier for homes with pets. Dreame distinguishes its offering from the crowd with a built-in, self-cleaning Furcatch roller that mechanically removes pet hair from the built-in HEPA filter to prevent clogging and maintain airflow at all times.
The fur and dust sucked in are collected in a concealed chamber. I have heavy shedders in the house, thanks to Max and Mogo pitching in together. I emptied the FP10 chamber about twice in 27 odd days, which is pretty satisfying for me, considering I used to clean my air purifiers twice a week before this.

Pet hair tends to build up around the filters of air purifiers and vacuum cleaners, choking them up and forcing filter replacement in months. The FP10 is a cool guy here. In its cylindrical body – between the air vent near the bottom and the ambient light on the top – lies a microfiber roller brush alongside the HEPA filter. The brush moves back and forth on the filter, wiping off accumulating pet hair from the filter automatically, so you don’t have to worry about the purifier choking on pet fur.
Dreame claims the auto-cleaning system easily extends the filter’s lifespan by almost two years, giving you respite from regular filter maintenance and performance degradation. That said, the FP10 purifier does not require regular cleaning or filter replacement. It measures just over two feet tall, weighs about 8.8kg, and has a diameter of around 14 inches. The Furcatch system is paired with a multi-layer filtration setup in the FP10 to suck up all types of pet hair and larger debris and capture VOCs in the air.
The FP10 and My Experience With Pet Hair and Odor
I was pretty impressed by the way the FP10 purifier captures hair each day that my pets shed around the couch, the dining table, and their play area. The 360-degree air intake vent located around the circumference of the tower base captures the floating fur and dander from all sides evenly. I have not noticed more than a few strands of fur on the filter of my self-cleaning FP10 in about 27 days of use, even though I have cleaned it manually only a couple of times.
I’m sure it’s impossible for an air purifier to clean all the floating hair two pets can shed throughout the day, but in my experience, the FP10 does a decent job on full power. It’s a really good air purifier when the dust or hair is in close proximity, but obviously, it doesn’t have the power to suck up fur and tiny allergens from all over the apartment.

What is also impressive about the FP10 is how it handles odors. The purifier comes with enhanced activated carbon and catalytic filtration layers to reduce airborne pollutants and household smells. I would rate it a satisfactory 8.5 on 10 for removing the airborne contaminants, but again, sitting far from the litter box or the kitchen, I’d say the odor finds its way into the air. When the purifier is around arm’s length, the air is fresher and more in control of the Dreame’s air purifier.
Dreame FP10 is More Than an Air Purifier
The most obvious difference of the FP10 is its combo of rolling brush and filter, which ‘allows a household to save up to a thousand dollars in filter costs over 3 years,’ Dreame exclaimed. The accompanying mobile app lets you keep track of filter cleaning and other air purification metrics remotely. Paired with the Dreamehome app, I was able to remotely schedule, turn the air purifier on or off between my little girl’s sleep schedule. This was essential because in a smaller bedroom, like mine, the FP10’s humming can be disturbing while sleeping.
It is certified to operate between 32 and 62dB with the option of 10 manual fan settings and an auto mode for those who trust technology to shift air purification between Sleep or Pet modes, based on requirement. The purifier is less obvious in a larger, more open living room, especially if you have the TV turned on. You also kind of get used to the sound, and it fades away in the background after a few days of use.
