Downdraft hob cooktop extractors are not very popular and there are only a few players in the niche industry. Italian brand Falmec is one of those companies that have made multifunctional cooking systems with built-in exhaust systems. Looking into the rise of tiny house living popularity, the brand has recently launched Zero 76, a compact version of their Zero series of cooktops with integrated ventilation modules. From the aesthetic looks to the features, everything is similar except the size that is well suited for small spaces.

The new version of Zero is designed to be installed in 80 cm wide cabinet modules. It is basically an integrated cooking system that combines an extractor hood with a 76 cm induction hob. The kitchen appliance features a central glass slider that draws vapors and odors downwards right at the cooktop from where they are generating. In the automatic mode, the suction speed is adjusted to the absorbed power for best results.

The induction hob has four cooking zones with nine power levels + High Power Boost and Flex Surface technology. It is designed to be used with pans of different types and sizes for maximum flexibility while cooking.

Other highlighting features of the hob are automatic pan detection, heat indicator, automatic shut-off with individual timer for each cooking zone, automatic bridge function, and Keep Warm function that helps keep food at ideal temperature. Furthermore, the Zero 76 filter version comes with Carbon. Zeo Microtech regenerable filters that absorb odor or vapor, and also control residual moisture effectively. When needing maintenance, the filters can be extracted from the above easily.

As it appears from the product photos, the extractor sits in the middle of the cooking zones on the hob. The design looks clean and elegant but the only thing racing through the mind is what happens when something is spilled and seeps into the extractor fan.
