People get crazy around the holidays and so do the foods. For example, Costco has something slightly bizarre to offer for Easter 2026, a hop-tastic edible Easter bunny. But what’s bizzare about that? Well, you need a hammer to eat it. Costco has launched a giant, $35 chocolate Easter bunny that weighs 10 lbs. Crafted by Maud Borup, the Minnesota food company, it’s hard to fathom what made the company to create this quirky edible Easter surprise that is not just all ears, but all chocolate, leaving people both in awe and confusion.

There are literally two ways to eat it: by giving it a good whack with a hammer or by warming a serrated bread knife and cutting gently. Ears or feet first is your choice. If you think we are just making up things, then you can check out the instructions given on the back of the packaging, which are quite hilarious.

This semi-solid giant hopper even has a name, Pete. Costco chocolate Easter bunny weighs 10 lbs and is wrapped in a 160 ounce of chocolate from head to toe. According to New York Post, this giant Easter treat is made from milk chocolate, white chocolate, and dark chocolate. Don’t worry about the calorie intake, you just enjoy the sugar rush, which will keep you feeling ecstatic for days.

The strangeness is real that people came up with hilarious ways to question the idea and display their fascination, and we don’t blame them. The Maud Borup Instagram post amusingly describes it as egg-stagram sensation. The post further writes, “First, he’s admired, then he’s cracked or cut. A hop-tastic moment that turns a bunny spectacle into shareable bites. One giant bunny, a hundred little moments of chocolate.”

Pete the bunny has become an extraordinary Easter statement, perfect for kids and adults to enjoy. It can be a great Easter surprise, or an entertaining centerpiece to baffle the crowd. But most importantly, it can bring families together to share amazement, crack jokes, and laugh out loud while eating the chocolate bunny.

If you want this adorable, too good to eat chocolate Easter bunny, then you can hop to Costco this instant and get this excessive, extravagant Easter hopper for $35. However, if you find it weird to bring tools into your eating session, then you can try plenty of Easter chocolates that are easy to bite in and don’t demand the wild out of you for smashing or slicing.
