First unveiled at CES 2025, Govee Table Lamp 2 Pro x Sound by JBL was featured in our 25 Best Smart Home Devices, showcased during the tech event. It is months later that the innovative device is finally available for purchase. Launched yesterday, the Govee table lamp and speaker combo can be availed at $180 from the official website and Amazon starting June 23.

As reviewed by The Verge, “the Govee Table Lamp combines snazzy lighting effects and decent sound into one fun, portable package.” This is possible courtesy of Govee’s cutting-edge lighting technology and JBL’s renowned audio expertise. The collaboration between the two iconic brands has resulted in a hybrid that brings a party vibe to your bedside table or a calming ambiance to your reading nook.

The main highlight of the Govee Table Lamp 2 Pro x Sound is its ability to sync light and sound in real time, creating an immersive sensory experience. As detailed on Govee’s Amazon page, the lamp features 16 special music sync modes and over 100 preset lighting scenes to cater to every mood, from festive to meditative.

The lamp is equipped with 210 individually addressable RGBICWW LED beads, which the company claims are 20 percent crisper than its predecessor, allowing for a dazzling array of colors and patterns. Thanks to Govee’s latest algorithm and chipset, the lamp reacts to music in just 32 milliseconds, ensuring that the lighting pulses perfectly in time with your favorite beats.

The audio component is equally impressive as the lamp’s aesthetic prowess. The lamp is powered by a 2.5-inch, 500cc JBL full-range driver to deliver rich, layered sound that fills the room. While it may not compete with heavy bass-focused speakers, the clarity and balance are more than sufficient for casual listening, movie nights, or small gatherings.

For those craving a more robust audio experience, two lamps can be paired for stereo sound, amplifying both the audio and visual impact. “With a high-speed 5.8GHz Wi-Fi stereo connection, stereo sound is enabled when two Govee Table Lamp 2 Pro x Sound by JBL units are paired. This dual-lamp setup ensures ultra-smooth synchronization of sound and lighting, delivering high-quality stereo audio and vibrant visuals in perfect harmony,” the company mentions in a press release.

Configuration-wise, the table lamp stands 10 inches tall and boasts a compact yet striking form. Its bowl-like, opaque white design houses a 360-degree LED array and a secondary down-firing mood light, which Stuff rightfully compares to the likes of Harman Kardon Aura. The lamp’s suspended light ring projects vibrant visuals from multiple angles, offering 600 lumens of brightness and a color temperature range of 2700 K to 6500 K. This versatility makes it suitable for everything from bright task lighting to warm, ambient glows.

With a 5200mAh battery, the lamp provides up to 4.5 hours of unplugged use, making it easy to move from your living room to your porch or bedroom. While it lacks the weatherproofing or handle of some competitors, like JBL’s Pulse 5, its sleek design and touch controls add a modern, user-friendly touch.

On the compatibility front, the lamp also integrates seamlessly with smart home ecosystems, supporting Alexa, Google Assistant, and Matter for voice control, as well as the Govee Home App for extensive customization.

Priced at $180, the Table Lamp 2 Pro x Sound offers compelling value for a device that combines high-end lighting and JBL-tuned audio. Available on Govee’s website and Amazon starting June 23, with European and UK availability later in the year, Govee Table Lamp Pro 2 x Sound by JBL is a versatile addition to any tech-savvy home.
